Thank you to all of you who prayed for Caleb yesterday! God answered your prayers! We took Caleb in at 7:15am to get tubes put in his ears. I was a little nervous, because "surgery" sounded scary when talking about my little boy. We couldn't feed him breakfast since he was getting put under, so I was worried he would be crabby before the surgery. His appointment was at 8am, but apparently the surgeon thought it was 8:30. So we waited for quite a while in our little hospital room, all the while being taken care of by great nurses.
Caleb was in a GREAT mood! He played and sang and ran around in his little hospital gown. He figured out how to open the sliding glass door to our room and make the nurses smile. The anesthesiologist came and met him - a great guy, who the nurses affectionately call "Uncle Bob" because he's so great with kids.
When the surgeon was ready, Bob flew Caleb out of the room and down the hall. No tears! We waited in the waiting room for only about 20 minutes. When we got back to the room, Caleb was crying as he started to wake from the anesthetic. He cried for maybe 20 minutes off and on as he became conscious and things felt weird. It's hard on little ones who have no idea why they feel so funny! Then he started sipping on juice and grabbing some Cheerios and felt better quickly.
We actually got to leave the hospital by 9:30! I really didn't expect to be able to go home so soon. Caleb was feeling good and in good spirits. He napped for over three hours when we got home, and then was energetic and happy all day. What an amazing science is medicine! We're praying that these tubes will help him to stay healthy for a long time. Thank you again for your prayers! Have a great weekend!

On our way out we spotted the white deer that have become so popular in this park. We're not sure if they're albino or just a different breed of deer, but they sure are pretty!
In other news, Caleb has learned how to stick out his tongue. I know this is probably not something I should encourage, but it's just so cute! And yes, this is as far as he will stick it out right now!
Last but not least, I had to share this picture even though it's blurry - he looked so cute in this little vest! It's been a cold spring until just this past week!
