Family Movie Night

Tonight we had our first official family movie night, complete with popcorn and malts! Micah didn't watch much of course, but Caleb enjoyed watching 101 Dalmations for the first time, which was Joel's favorite as a kid!

Micah is stuffing his mouth full of popcorn - this was his first time trying it, and he LOVED it!

This is the face Micah gives when he wants food that we have! I shared my malt with Micah. He probably ate about a third of it and then moved on to beg for more from Caleb. Fortunately Caleb was too engrossed in the movie to be upset about sharing his malt with his brother!

Yum!

A Few Pictures

Here are a few recent pictures:

Micah's been working on his molars, so popsicles have been helpful!

Yeah! (I'm so bummed this is blurry, but it's still cute.)

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Hogberg for the matching jammies for Easter!

Grandma Lori found this great picnic table at a garage sale, so the boys tested it out at Grandma's house before we took it home and put it on the deck. We're looking forward to many lunches in the sun!

It's so fun to dress them alike sometimes!

Mora Caleb-Isms

The boys and I had a wonderful evening tonight while Joel was with the Student Council at Valleyfair. Micah has been reminding us lately that it was never our parenting skills that made Caleb behave so wonderfully...it was definitely just his very easy-going personality. But whenever Micah is outside, he's in a wonderful mood. He absolutely loves toddling around and exploring. He's much more dirty than Caleb has ever been too - tonight he dug into a flower pot right after I finished watering, so he was full of mud and wiping it all over his face and clothes! So that's a little window into Micah's personality.

Caleb is just a hoot these days. I wanted to share a few tidbits of his brain:

He loves swinging at the park, and really loves getting underdogs, but for some reason, he calls them "Super Dogs"!

We've been watching our hosta slowly creep up this week in the front yard, so we've been pointing it out to Caleb and telling him what it's called. Except Caleb calls it "pasta". So tonight when we were watering, I said "Look Caleb, our hosta is getting a little bigger" and he said "Yeah, and then we can eat it!"

On our way anywhere in the van Caleb always insists on listening to Go Fish. I definitely prefer Go Fish's kids music over any other kids music I've heard, but after listening to it all the time, it gets rather old. Caleb just loves it though. Our latest CD is "Kicking it Old School" and includes a lot of older songs and hymns. Caleb has said many times lately, including tonight, that his favorite song is "This is My Father's World". Tonight I told him, "I really like that song too Caleb" but that was not ok with him! "No Mama. This is MY favorite. Your favorite is a different song." Ok, ok. I guess you already claimed that one buddy.

Speaking of our Father's World, I am so grateful for spring. It is amazing to see all the tulips, rich green grass, and blue water again. God has been using the little things in nature lately to bless me and bring me peace. Thank you Lord for your creativity and refreshment throughout the year - your plan is so good!
